Driven past this place countless times and then I saw an Instagram post...best veal sandwich going... I'm in! Owner Carrie was super friendly and put together an amazing lunch. Need to try the rest of the menu as all sounds great. Great value for a homemade meal and and a wonderful neighbourhood cafe. See ya again soon Carrie!
How did I not know this bakery was here??!! Delicious pastries ... the canolli pie is INCREDIBLE! I've only seen the same lady in there so I'm assuming she's the owner and she's always helpful and friendly.
We had such a wonderful time at this Italian café — it truly felt like a little taste of Italy right here in St. Catharines! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service from the owner made the whole experience unforgettable. You can tell she takes real pride in what she does — she greeted us with a smile and made us feel like family. The veal parm sandwich was absolutely delicious — perfectly breaded, tender, and full of flavour. Sauce was incredible, melted cheese and great portion! You can taste the care and authenticity in every bite. We finished off with cannolis and tiramisu, and both were heavenly! The desserts were fresh, balanced, and made with love — exactly what you’d expect from a true Italian café. This place is a gem — amazing food, authentic atmosphere, and genuine hospitality that’s hard to find these days. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone we know.
Just had a veal sandwich from here and it was the best I have had in a very long time. They were swamped and it was past lunch at 1:10. But they had my sandwich ready faster than most drive thru fast food and this sandwich was no fast food. They will be seeing me a lot.
I have eaten there before and had coffee and gelato and had a great experience....until today.... I ordered a Cannoli cake and had a bad experience with the owner. I was told to pick up at 2:30 and when my daughter went she was told 3:00 and my daughter corrected her and the owner said Regardless 3:00. My daughter said she spoke to her with attitude so she got mad and left. I called cause I was upset and got an apology but was spoken to with sarcasm I hope you have a better day than your having now. How rude of an owner to talk like this. For her mistake and making me like a lair to my daughter not even a nice apology or even a discount off the cake as compensation. They will never get my business again.
This is definitely a hidden gem. The food is consistently fantastic and tastes just like Nonna's. The coffee is perfect as well. You would be hard press to find a nicer small café.
I would have liked to try it, but I arrived at 4:15 and despite the Google listing saying they close at 4:30 and the sign at the store saying they close at 5, the doors were locked and no one was there.
