I am a student and I think it's an alright school! Good teachers but there is a few things I would change but overall it's a good school.

Thankfully starting my last year this school has a major bullying issue though Im lucky enough not to be bullied Ive seen classmates bullied relentlessly and the overall decision I thought it was overall stupid why get rid of 3 perfectly fine schools for 1 school which really has 2 things going for it 1.its the newest school 2.its named after a African American hero and nothing else really is that good sure there is technology but its only smart boards which dont work half the time and crappy google netbooks which are filthy and missing most keys and the influence is all rap the kindergartens sing bodak yellow but there is weed,Xanax and vaping infesting this school and underage sex most school workers would say there is none but Im the person attending as many others so I would know more then the people that watch I am talked to about it and have witnessed it on social media like Snapchat Instagram etc. And the teachers my grade 7 teacher would give homework and not mark it and the same with assignments and he would forget about the assignment and never take it or give us almost no time and tell us it was due the next day and thats not it my friend was bullied about something and she told the teacher and he said you gotta admit thats pretty funny BUT THEN a boy in my class which he favoured over my friend was bullied with one joke and the whole class had to write apology letters for not intervening so he had a huge scale of favouritism I could go on but this is already long enough

This school is pretty and new and thats all it has going for it. Almost everyone I know has pulled their kids out. Staff completely ignore the students during breaks, even if they ask for help. Many (certainly not all!) of the teachers have an attitude that makes me wonder why they teach, but having met the administration its easy to see why. If I had to work for these people Id be upset too. Certain students are allowed to do whatever they want even if it involves violence. They threaten, physically assault and sexually harass other kids and nothing gets done. Worse than nothing, the administration punishes the victims bullying them and their families. I was told my daughter would be kicked out if I didnt keep quiet about her being bullied. They said they would throw her out for having a cell phone (like every other kid in her grade, but its not okay for her to have one so she can call her mom and ask for help when some kid just attacked her) Do they expel bullies at this school? No. Do they so much as suspend a kid for even ONE DAY for telling another kid she deserves to die and threatening to beat her up every day? Nope. They suspend the VICTIM for using her cell phone for NON-EDUCATIONAL purposes like calling her mom to come pick her up. The administration of this school should be in jail. They are more responsible for bullying than the kids. The kids are probably expecting to be disciplined not watch these adults act even more like bullies than they do. I hope their parents read this because I KNOW the school didnt bother to actually call them!

Beautiful school. Horibly run. My daughter and her frfrien and been brutality bullied in this school. The teachers do nothing and blame the kidsand bully them more. Horible management.

This school has been beyond accommodating for my daughter. She has had constant EA support since the beginning. She is always with people who love to be around her. She is on the autism spectrum and they have been beyond amazing with her, recognizing her needs and offering consistent solutions to any issues that arise. They even adapted her days and hours to better suit her needs. I'm blown away by how far staff have gone for us.
