Very disappointed this year. Of course the event was the wine festival. First thing is the searching of the ladies' purses. Can't see how this is legal.The park is as usual ....okay. even though I heard a lot druggies have invaded it.We usually look forward to this event but is sagging. Food and drink is extremely expensive and the idea that someone frisk's you at the gate is not something I don't want to do. Questionable we will return.
There is a place for families, elderly, quiet times, busy groups. There are music venues, special occasions like the (Grape and) Wine Festival, Folk Art events, and other events. Just too noisy for some of the close neighbours at times. Public washrooms are available during the warm months. The rose gardens and fountain are beautiful. There is historic plaques to know more about the area. There are 2 Ingress missions there for those so inclined. No sports areas, but lots of green space for impromptu playing, and a good playground for the kids.
I like all the cool events and festivals that are held here throughout the year, however the park itself is kind of run down and there are quite a few homeless that sleep there.. I know they have the park closed and night now apparently but honestly that's just a bandaid for a bullet wound... that's not fixing the problem...
Been there numerous times, both for different festivals and to just relax. Has a pavilion, washrooms, and a drinking fountain. Plenty of benches and some picnic tables, along with a play area for kids in one corner of the park. It's a nice place!
Usually clean. Nice park for kids. Large open grass for picnics or dogs. I used to love going when the sprinklers were on and have a blast. I also love all the events held here.
