Came in My steering was stiff. He helped me right away, i didn't have to wait. Explained the situation and sent me off. He helped me top off my steering fluid with no charge. Great guy, he helped more than he knows!
While visiting my parents from Barrie, a strap holding the shield covering my gas tank broke. I got the car to Larry’s (as my elderly dad still calls it) about an hour before closing. They immediately put my car on the hoist, and even when they couldn’t find and order the part, they spoke with my mechanic at home and told him what he needed to order. Being stranded far from home -and needing a long tow home - is an awful feeling but Dave and Cam and the mechanic who looked at my car redeemed my day. It’s wonderful to know that guys and businesses still exist like this. Thank you! (It also gave me the opportunity to personally thank Dave for picking up my dad’s car for years at his retirement home and returning it when the job is done.) Thank you again!
My absolute favourite mechanic! I had an issue with my car after a minor car accident, and I originally took it to a big chain mechanic (that will remain nameless). The estimate I was given from that other place said it was going to cost between $1000-1700. I brought the estimate to central auto and they fixed it for $113. Happy to give them my business, knowing they do what’s best for the customer, while that other place was trying to squeeze every dollar they could from me.
This amazing local business has owners/staff who are friendly and honest. They don’t have a fancy waiting room with a big-screen tv and free cappuccinos. They don’t have a driving service: so walk home and get your steps in while they work on your vehicle :) What they DO have, is exactly what everyone wants and needs from their local garage: competence, honesty and trustworthiness. I always leave laughing at their jokes with only the work that my car actually needed, at a lower price than anywhere else.
These guys are amazing. Brought in my car that was having a knocking issue. They identified the problem, but informed me that the parts looked new and suggested I check when the parts were last replaced, as they may still be under warranty. Which I did, and found out that they were indeed still under warranty. So now I’m heading back to that other shop to have the job done, again. Which saved me well over $1000 in parts. Central Auto Service demonstrated a high level of trustworthiness, and haven’t yet charged me a dime for it. I will bring all our vehicles to them from now on, and cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for an honest mechanic.
I was travelling to Niagara from Toronto, and suddenly heard an eerie, rattling noise coming from under the car. I called the nearest mechanic and even though they just closed, they said they would fix the broken part. In less than 5 minutes they fixed it and relieved all of my stress. Excellent customer service!
I can't express enough how grateful my family and I are for the exceptional service we received at Central Auto in St. Catharines. We initially brought our Honda Odyssey in, having been told by the Honda dealership that we needed to replace the front control arm, which was a daunting prospect both in terms of safety and cost. However, the experience at Central Auto was a breath of fresh air. The gentleman there took the time to inspect our van thoroughly. To our surprise and relief, he informed us that it was just a ball joint that needed attention, saving us hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs. Honesty like this is a rarity in the automotive world, and as a family with young children, living on a tight budget, it meant the world to us not to be taken advantage of. Central Auto's integrity and expertise have earned them customers for life in our family.
